Dwight & Lauren bring a unique combination to the Real Estate business by both having backgrounds in design fields as well as realty. After starting his architecture career with a prominent Real Estate developer in Ann Arbor, Dwight moved across the country to San Diego­ where he met his wife Lauren, who was also an architect at the time. For a variety of reasons, he and Lauren have moved with their three kids to several beautiful parts of the country including Maine and Florida, then coming full-circle back to Ann Arbor. Moving this many times has given them key insight into the needs of both buyers and sellers, and the importance of timely transactions.

Having grown up in nearby Grand Blanc, Michigan, Dwight’s family also had cottages Up North since the 1950s, where he spent most weekends of his summers and winters enjoying Michigan’s incredible lakes, forests, and beaches, along with fly-fishing the famed AuSable River. His grandfather built an iconic Mid-Century Modern home on the banks of this river, which inspired him to become an architect, and fostered his love of custom-designed homes. He followed this dream by going to the University of Michigan School of Architecture, and where he also played in the Michigan Marching Band, which he still plays in the alumni band during Homecoming and basketball games.

Dwight has designed well over 200 custom homes and remodeling projects during the past 25 years. This experience provides Dwight the expertise to aid home buyers in a unique way as a Realtor. For instance, as a buyer’s agent Dwight is able to give client’s ideas about what an existing home could become or how to find land for a new custom home. As a seller’s agent, Dwight can offer ideas about how to modify a home for the highest selling price. Also, after owning a home furnishings store for several years, he is uniquely qualified to aid clients in new home construction, whether it be design decisions, or choosing interior or exterior finishes, appliances or cabinetry. Operating his own architecture firm for over 14 years also gives Dwight the experience of listening to client’s needs and dreams, and helping them navigate the necessary steps to achieve them. His extensive time spent Up North and in southeast Michigan also gives him the ability to aid clients looking for vacation homes or find areas that have a great community with top-rated schools and culture.

Lauren’s natural enthusiasm for helping others and long-term love for design is also a great combination for helping client’s find their perfect real estate match. Lauren also has her undergraduate degree in architecture and worked in the design field for several years. In addition, having owned and operated her own counseling business for 25 years, Lauren has experience with client care and the attention to detail that is so important in a real estate transaction. As someone who loves to network and feel very connected in a community, one of Lauren’s passions is helping client’s find ways to connect to a new area. Lauren loves to volunteer in the community and enjoys working at a local outreach organization, participating in overseas service trips, and being involved at her son’s school.  

Dwight & Lauren also love going on travel adventures with their family, swimming, playing tennis, going to see live music and art museums, and being on the water whenever possible!
